So I'm getting married. And I'm stupidly trying to do everything myself (with help from friends and family) like make the invitations, sew the bridesmaid dresses and the groomsmen's vests. Who, crazy? No, not me. I just need massive amounts of knitting therapy, which I can spare no time for. Only 6 more weeks and I can knit again! Well, except for the project I have to teach in that all-day knitting workshop I stupidly volunteered to teach last August. And somehow it got advertised all over the central southwest region and I have people signed up from 100 miles away! And I'm not even a very knowlegable knitter! This should be tons of fun.

Spooky Knitting
If you are one of the 3 die-hard knitters in the world that hasn't seen the ultra-cool Alien Scarf, here is a picture of mine. It was a little confusing to start knitting, especially since I have the version of the book Stitch 'n Bitch that has the error where the colors are reversed, which is explained here:

Tripping on Yarn
I am tripping (in the 70's sense) on the cool yarn I just got on eBay. I'm a sucker for rainbow-type colorways and this is so awesome. I can't wait to pick a project and start, but I've promised to knit a sweater for each of my daughters for Christmas and that will take a LONG time. My older daughter picked a fairly easy sweater that is primarily stickinette stitch with a celtic knot done in cables on the center front. The catch (and there is always a catch) is that it's done in sport weight yarn on very small needles and she's a 3X so I'll be putting some miles on those knitting needles. I am off to check out the yarn choices for this sweater...

Painful Pics
These weren't painful in a physical sense, but I had to take about 2152 digital pictures to get these to turn out decently. All but the last few were very yellow and ugly. Finally, I got some reasonably viewable pictures and here, at last, is my Noro sweater, which I am crazy in love with (ignore the pitiful grammar in that sentence). The front has a curved band that goes around the back, and the yarn makes those gorgeous waves of color.
While I'm at it, here's another sweater I finished a few months ago:
And a crocheted top.

Blog templates and Noro
I've been playing with the blog template and I think I'm happy with it for a short while. I can't wait to get back to knitting the Noro sweater that I'm working on - it's fabulous. Will I ever get those pictures posted?

A Lifetime of Knitting
This is a new blog to document a lifetime of knitting, but since I don't really have any pictures of anything I finished prior to last year, it's easy to get caught up. I had quit knitting years ago, then a member of my embroiderer's guild taught a knitting program at our monthly meeting. We made a simple, knit-only 1-ball scarf out of Charm yarn. It was a happy reunion for me. I had never used novelty yarn (only Red Heart!) or bamboo needles and instantly loved both. Since then I've finished lots of things, including a man's cabled sweater with size 5 needles and Dk yarn, which took about 6 months! I'll post pics as possible.
